The Old Stable is a one‑bedroom, self‑contained annexe forming part of the owners’ home, nestled in the beautiful Edw Valley in Powys, Mid Wales. It adjoins the main house but has its own entrance, parking, and an enclosed garden with outdoor seating, it provides comfortable and private accommodation, while the owners live on site, It’s ideal for a quiet getaway or as a base to explore this beautiful part of Wales. AREA Aberedw is a small rural village situated (as the name suggests) where the River Wye joins the River Edw. There are some nice walks from the village in the surrounding hills and the Wye Valley Walk. A short walk from the property is the historic village pub, The Seven Stars Inn, which serves food every evening and can provide breakfast with prior notice, it is also dog friendly. We are only 4 miles from the market town of Builth Wells, the home of the Royal Welsh Showground, 15 miles from the pretty town of Hay‑on‑Wye, famous for its bookshops and festival, and close to Bannau Brycheiniog (The Brecon Beacons) offering great walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits as well as stunning scenery. ACCOMMODATION The Old stable is entered directly into a good‑sized breakfast room (with basic cooking facilities) with a stone floor, oak‑paneled walls and hand‑built kitchen cupboards , there is an inset two‑ring ceramic hob and a one‑and‑a‑half bowl sink, a fridge with freezer section and a combination microwave/convection oven, as well as a small table and chairs. Downstairs there is also a shower room with large shower, sink and WC . An open staircase leads up to the first floor which is carpeted and laid out as a studio room with a comfortable sofa, TV and double bed. Free Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. DOGS We welcome well‑behaved small and medium‑sized dogs (maximum two) – an additional charge of £15 per pet per stay will apply. The annexe also has its own private, enclosed garden area with outdoor seating, enclosed with fencing, which is suitable for most dogs, we ask that dogs are not left alone in the accommodation at any time, also please note that we do have dogs ourselves, and that neighboring fields may contain livestock. Dog bowls will be provided. BICYCLES We have lockable storage available if you wish to bring your bikes. The area is popular with cyclists, with quiet country lanes directly from the property. National Cycle Route 8 (Lôn Las Cymru) runs next to the village, providing easy access to longer-distance riding as well as scenic routes through the Wye Valley and surrounding hills, making it a convenient base for road cycling and leisure rides. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The annexe is part of our home and is intended for short‑stay guests visiting the area. We are usually on site and available if needed, but guests have their own private space during their stay. The accommodation is suitable for up to two people, unfortunately we do not accept children. Minimum stay is 2 nights, and availability may vary depending on the season. Check-in is from 3:00pm and check-out is by 10:30am.
