Spacious family-owned mid-barn conversion in Glasbury-on-Wye, 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye. Recently and lovingly restored, this hidden gem lies on the edge of the village, just a 5-minute walk from Foyles Hotel and Restaurant and The Harp Inn. Glasbury House, with its pop-up food stalls and entertainment, is also within walking distance. From the house, there are several walking routes, including a river walk along the River Wye just minutes from the front door. There is a regular bus service from the village (not far from the petrol station) to the Hay Festival. The house is well-equipped as it is a family home with all mod-cons (integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and electric oven) and comfortable furnishings (4-seater sofa and arm chair) in the social spaces. The first floor has two king-size bedrooms with a shared bathroom off the landing. Both rooms have coffee machines and there will be coffee pods, UHT milk and Welsh biscuits provided. The second floor suite is a double room with wing-backed chair and ensuite bathroom. This bedroom has views to the River Wye from the Velux windows - a really beautiful sight. The back garden has a private terrace with outdoor sofa and dining table and chairs. While pictures show a working wood-burner, it will not be in use during your stay. That said, heating will be pre-set with a boost option if needed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Towels and bed linen are provided as part of the service. A washing machine is available to use if necessary. Furthermore, two off-street car parking spaces are available (one at side and one at rear of the property). Unfortunately, due to the owners severe allergy to pets, dogs are not permitted in the house or gardens.
