The Huts are hidden away in the hills, complete with mountain stream running alongside and the expanse of the Brecon Beacons Dark Sky Reserve overhead. This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular locations in the National Park, complete with fab wood fired hot tub! Hay Bluff & Offa’s Dyke are just behind you on the hill, and Hay on Wye & the River Wye with pubs, restaurants and great independent stores. You are offered exclusive use of three fabulous shepherds huts (2 people per hut), with an optional extra sleeping hut tucked 50 yards away in the corner of a nearby field (ideal for teenagers) if you need to stretch your accommodation to sleep 8. When you come and stay at The Huts you have exclusive use of the site. Each hut has been hand built on site, using traditional building methods and inspired by the authentic shepherds huts that were once a key part of farming on the uplands. The site is off grid, with power generated by wind and solar energy and a healthy supply of firewood providing ample fuel for cooking. The huts are grouped around a huge fire-pit and the optional extra sleeping hut is just a 3 minute stroll away, perfect for privacy. Each sleeping hut is designed for two, with a spacious double bed, Welsh blanket drapes, wood burning “hot pod” stove and solar powered lighting. There are well selected local reads, a stack of essential games (Jenga, Monopoly, Scrabble etc) and a hand made oak table and Lloyd Loom chairs too. The design works really well for families, as everyone has their privacy, yet there is a wonderful feeling of shared space too. Linen is included but please remember to bring your own towels. The Utility Hut, the hub of cooking and showering in style in the great outdoors, comes complete with Esse stove, Fridge, proper washing up and cooking equipment and hidden discreetly at the back, has a fully functioning hot water shower room with WC.
